AmericaUnited.com
The primary purpose of AmericaUnited.com is to link the displaced victims from Hurricane Katrina with open homes all over America.
AmericaUnited.com was birthed to bring Americans together in unity. We believe that unity is the answer to many of our greatest challenges in this country. When we stand united in truth, mercy, and justice, there is no opposition that America cannot defeat!
There are hundreds of thousands of homeless people who are not aware that this website is available to them, and our efforts are in vain unless they find out! We need to get the word out about this website through grassroots efforts and the mainstream media so the hurricane victims will know they have a home here in America, and that the country is standing with them, ready to help!
Many American organizations and companies have come together in order to provide a one-stop location, AmericaUnited.com, for the purposes of re-uniting families that have been separated during this disaster and to provide an online location that connects people who want to give free housing and donations to those that have been left without a home.
Our immediate goal is to make people and news networks aware of what we are doing. Currently, the Red Cross and FEMA will not directly promote this effort since they are worried about the legal liability of "representing" individual volunteers, so official endorsements/support is unlikely at this stage.
Hurricane Katrina has given our country a stunning blow in many ways: significant loss of life, broken morale, inestimable financial loss, the destruction of a historic American city, and a future for hundreds of thousands that holds only questions.
Several charities have put out a desperate plea to the nation to provide housing for the displaced hurricane victims. AmericaUnited.com has taken action by providing an online solution for people who want to help.
